Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both attorneys. When she was a kid she was enrolled in her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma decided to be an actor when she was six. Over the course of several years she was enrolled in the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing dance, acting and singing. Her performances had been in several Stagecoach and school productions when she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 version to J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was discovered by agent through their Oxford teacher. David Heyman announced to Emma that following eight auditions Emma as well as Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. The debut of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. The film is 2001's top earning film, smashing records on opening day and the very first weekend. It was highly acclaimed by critics, as were the performances of its three starlets. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her outstanding performance. Emma was awarded five nominations for her impressive performance. In the end, she received the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actresses of an Film.
